My Story

We are all unique, complex beings with unique, complex lives. Many of us find ourselves struggling and feel stuck. We may not understand what is happening or, more importantly, what to do to make things better – to feel better.

Therapy can help.

Michelangelo’s approach to sculpting closely correlates to my approach to therapy. He said: “The sculpture is already complete within the marble block before I start my work. It is already there. I just have to chisel away the superfluous material”. Despite the challenges we face, or deficits we may carry, or the “superfluous material” the world has piled on, we all have inherent strengths that can be used to cast them off and begin to move forward again in the process of becoming the version of yourself that you most want to be.

I partner with my clients to create a judgement free, objective space that enables them to feel safe while learning to be curious in new ways about their worlds. My priority is meeting each individual where they are and honoring their journey. We then move forward together from there on a path of healing that leads away from unnecessary suffering. For those who feel trapped, stuck, or even captive, there is a way out and forward for you. Let us discuss how we
might work together to find your path, clear away the superfluous material, and set you in motion to create a life and a world that is truly yours.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and obtained my Master’s in Clinical Social Work, Summa cum laude, from Baylor University. I have trained in NARM (Neuro Affective Relational Model) and have worked in the residential and outpatient settings. For 16 years I have worked with people in addiction recovery. My practice includes individuals, couples, and groups and I see patients who are aged 18 and up.

My approach is both eclectic and trauma-informed and I specialize in complex and acute trauma, addiction(s), personality disorders, depression, anxiety, life stage issues, life transitions, professional issues, men’s issues, and interpersonal issues. I accept all people, regardless of their chosen identity(ies) and/or orientations and am able to communicate effectively and adaptively with most people.

I have been a professional working musician for almost 30 years and have been a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. I enjoy this creative outlet and enjoy connecting with others who have artistic passion as well.

I accept Aetna, BCBS of Texas, and Cigna as well as Self-Pay at a fee of $175/hour.
